Tokai wines got their original name due to the historical territory, which is located in a mountain range in countries such as Slovakia, as well as Hungary. The so-called Tokai wine variety is a series of white dessert types of drink. Tokai wines are distinguished by their golden noble hue. Tokai wines are made exclusively by their high-quality light grapes.

However, Tokai wines have become famous not only for their unique taste and aroma parameters. Tokai wines are produced according to a special technologist for the production of the drink, which helps winemakers achieve excellent quality of the finished drink. For the production of Tokai wines use fruits not fresh, but laid naturally, i. e. in the direct sunlight of grapes.

Professional tasters and true connoisseurs of the drink distinguish Tokai wines from all other varieties of the drink thanks to an exquisite blend of tastes and aromas. The taste of Tokai wines feels honey aroma, as well as shades of raisins taste. Tokai wines are produced in the Tokaya region, which is located between the Bodrog rivers, as well as the Tisa.

As mentioned earlier, this area is divided between Slovakia as well as Hungary. Although in the Tokaya wine region they produce the same Tokai wine according to the same recipe in Slovakia and Hungary, the finished drink is called differently. Tokai wines include the Hungarian version of the drink called "Tokaji, " and in Slovakia - "Tokajský. "

Historians and researchers of the sea wine tradition came to the conclusion that for the first time in the region they began to engage in viticulture in the 13th century. At the same time, the first types of Tokai wines were made, which later earned fame and popularity among foodies around the world. Tokai wines occupy an important place in the drinking tradition of European states.

According to the memoirs of contemporaries, the great Goethe and Voltaire more than once spoke of excellent quality and confessed their love to Tokai wines. In medieval Europe, Tokai wines were called "wine of kings and king of wines. " Up until now, Tokai wines are highly regarded by both professional tasters and wine lovers.

Another characteristic feature of Tokai wines can be considered that the drink is made exclusively from grapes grown in the wine region. On the volcanic land of mountainous territories, grape varieties such as furmint, yellow muscat, heta, as well as harschlevel are grown. The varieties listed above refer to late grape species that remain np vine until late autumn.

As a result, the grapes dry out under the influence of direct sunlight. Ultimately, grapes are converted into unique natural raw materials that are used in the production of Tokai wines. Such main types of Tokai wines are distinguished as:



tokai native or sweet dry wine, which is made from unsorted grapes;

tokai-asu is a wine that is made from frozen grapes;

Tokai essence or drink, which is made by the method of weak fermentation.
