This national drink is believed to be the strongest and "most alcoholic. For example, the German national alcoholic drink schnapps, which in its characteristics is able to argue with vodka or homemade moonshine for the palm. The German word Schnaps means not only the name of a particular drink. This term is used to refer to a collection of strong alcoholic beverages that are made by distillation of alcohol-containing braga from grain or fruit.

Moreover, the true schnapps cannot be a fortress of less than 40%. The taste of schnapps is not much different from moonshine or vodka. However, often fruity or herbal notes are present in the schnapps. In Germany, even some brandy varieties are classified as schnapps, such as kirschwasser. In addition to Germany, schnapps have become widespread in the North American region, where the so-called North American schnapps are manufactured and sold.

In Germany, schnapps has been produced since the Middle Ages, this drink has long been inextricably linked with German national culture and cuisine. Nowadays, schnapps is as much a symbol of the country as German sausages or meat sausages and beer. There are about 30 ancient recipes and varieties of schnapps. The Germans also enjoy special honor such brands of schnapps as Kirschwasser - a cherry drink, Obstle or the famous apple and pear schnapps, Zwetschke - a drain-based drink. Not only in Germany produce and use schnapps. Austria has long been famous for its schnapse Adilitzbeere, whose unique recipe involves the use of ash tree fruits.
