A cone-shaped glass, half filled with cool martini, from which you can see a skewer with an olive. . . Any socialite lady's favourite drink, isn't it? But few people know that martinis are real vermouth, which is produced in Italy. It was from there that the name of this alcoholic drink, which began to be produced at the Martini & Rossi distillery in Turin, and in the foundation of which Alessandro Martini himself was directly involved.

Currently, martinis are generally used not only in their pure form, but also as a fragrant base for making a variety of cocktails, the most famous of which are Trinity, Bronx and Manhattan. The most common products most commonly used with this drink are ice, various juices, soda, lemon, lemonade, olives and tonic.

Types of martini

Depending on the components used, martini types also differ, but 8 brands of this drink are mainly world leaders. First, it's Rosso's martini, which has a red color, a bittersweet taste and a rich aroma. It is customary to consume it with ice, juice or lemon. The light straw color is inherent in the Bianco martini, in the aroma of which there are notes of vanilla and spices. Martini composition

The composition of the martini has remained unchanged for many decades, but however the basis for this drink is white wine. Subsequently, to obtain various varieties and brands of martinis, other ingredients are added to the grape drink, mainly aromatic herbs.

However, in the original martini composition, as in any vermouth, wormwood must be present without fail. In addition, the most common components in the production of martinis are cinnamon, ginger, caramel, orange and lemon zest, as well as some medicinal herbs - chamomile, gentian or hina bark.
