Limoncello liqueur

Limoncello liqueur...

The incredibly popular Italian liquor Limoncello in its homeland is increasingly in demand every year in our country. This fragrant strong drink is mostly produced in southern Italy, particularly Sicily, Sardinia, Ischia, Capri and the Amalfi coast.

Limoncello liquor got its name due to the method of manufacture, namely, the raw materials used. Thus, for the production of this drink, lemon zest is used, which has been infused with alcohol for some time, so the finished liquor contains a considerable amount of vitamin C. In addition, according to the formulation of the manufacture, the main components for Limoncello liquor are alcohol, sugar and water. Of the last two, sugar syrup is cooked, which is subsequently added to the filtered flavored alcohol.

Currently, Limoncello liqueur of brands such as: Limoncello di Sicilia-Russo, Limoncello di Capri, Villa Massa, Caravella Limoncello, Luxardo, Bella Verde, Limonce, "Pallini Limoncello and Lemoncello Toschi can be found in the global alcoholic beverage market. All of them have an unsurpassed taste and excellent lemon aroma.

In its historic homeland, Limoncello liqueur is the most popular local drink after Campari. It is customary to consume it not only in its pure form (as a digestif), but also as a table drink or dessert, as well as a component for making numerous cocktails. It is recommended to drink Limoncello liqueur in a cooled form from small high glasses, which must first be kept in the freezer so that the walls are covered with a thin ice crust. In addition, often crushed ice is added to the liquor itself.

Limoncello liqueur is also used in the formulation of various dessert dishes. In total, a small amount of this strong drink can give the finished meal a sophisticated citrus note and an exquisite aroma. In addition to adding liquor to numerous dishes, it is not uncommon for culinary experts to use it to make popular low-alcohol cocktails.

The most famous are Tangerine Dawn (with white vermouth and tangerine juice), Frosty Afternoon (with vodka and fresh mint) and Kremoncello. The latter, by the way, is one of the variants of Limoncello liqueur - this is the same liqueur on citrus zest, only with the addition of an identical amount of cream.
