The famous liqueur Frangelico received its name in honor of the man who created it - the monk Frangelico. Referring to the Benedectines, he lived in the seventeenth century in the northern lands of Italy - in Piedmont. The monk was well versed in all kinds of herbs and was very sensitive to nature, in connection with which all his recipes were based on the use of berries and hazelnuts.

However, the most memorable in terms of flavor among all the liqueurs that were created by the monk was Frangelico liqueur, which was based on a berry tincture with wild hazelnuts and flowers. Over time, the recipe for making this wonderful drink was lost and forgotten, but Barbero managed to revive it after almost three centuries.

The fact that the recipe and technology for the production of Frangelico liqueur today is kept in the strictest secret is not strange, but according to some sources it is based on selected hazelnuts of a certain species and pure mineral waters. In addition, wild berries, bitter almonds, as well as sweet flowers of orange and Ceylon cinnamon are important components of natural origin in its composition.

In the process of making Frangelico liqueur, all these and many other ingredients are mixed in a strictly defined manner, according to the monk's practically specific formulation. The drink is aged in oak barrels twice and lasts more than one month, as a result of which the legendary liqueur Frangelico acquires a luxurious aroma and exquisite taste.

Frangelico liqueur goes on sale in bottles of a rather specific shape, which resembles the silhouette and outline of a monk figure covered with rope. Although, this image is ideal for such a multifaceted and refined fragrant drink.

It is believed that the best way to eat Franjelico liqueur is a drink in an undiluted state with the addition of a small amount of edible ice. However, it is often served with coffee, soda, cranberry juice or used as one of the components for making cocktails. The most famous mixed alcoholic beverages based on this liquor are considered Frangelico Colada and Hazelnut Martini.

Frangelico liquor is such a versatile product that culinary experts have also taken note of it. With his participation, they create not only dessert dishes, which is understandable, but also use liquor even when preparing meals in which the bird is present. It is noteworthy that Americans have Francelico liqueur (Frangelico) even has its own nickname - "housewives liquor, " probably there is a hint of the culinary possibilities of the drink.
