Licker advocate (advocate)

Licker advocate (advocate)...

Lovers of sweet spirits are probably known for the liqueur Advocate (Advocate). This thick, viscous liqueur, which has a pleasant aroma and an attractive cream-yellow color, is able to please many connoisseurs and foodies with its taste.

Today, Advocate liqueur is made on the basis of the freshest egg yolks, high-quality brandy, as well as sugar or natural honey. In addition, quite often vanilla is added to the formulation of Advocate liqueur, which gives the finished drink a characteristic aroma, cream or condensed milk for greater tenderness and silkiness.

It is known that in English-speaking countries in the liqueur Advocate (Advocate) contains 15% alcohol, while in continental Europe the strength of the drink can vary from 14 to 20 percent. The most famous producers of Advocate liqueur are brands such as Lucas Bols, Warniks, De Kuyper and Verpoorten. It is noteworthy that according to statistics, more than 65 million chicken eggs are used annually in the manufacture of Advocate liqueur for four million liters of the drink.

Meanwhile, initially, Advocate liqueur was made from avocado pulp, and the drink was invented by the Dutch, who lived in Suriname, as well as the Recife district (a Brazilian town in the province of Pernambuco). But in the Netherlands, where this fruit was unavailable, the necessary consistency of the liqueur was sought by the lawyer (Advocaat) by adding egg yolks to the drink.

By the way, the original Aztec name for the avocado was "ahuacatl, " which was transliterated into Spanish as "avogado" - in Spanish it meant "lawyer. " This is how this egg liqueur got its name in most European languages. By the way, this led to the fact that many people mistakenly believe that the name of the liquor Advocate is associated with the legal community.

In Tyrolia and the Netherlands, you can find liqueur Advocate of a very thick consistency on sale, in connection with which it is even eaten with a spoon, but a more liquid analogue is exported. Liqueur Advocate can be used as a component in the preparation of dessert dishes, cookies and ice cream.

In addition, it acts as an excellent aperitif or digestif - traditionally, Advocate liqueur is usually served in wide glasses with whipped cream, which are sprinkled with cocoa powder. Often, this liquor is added to coffee to give this invigorating drink a more tender and gentle taste.

Not complete without liquor Advocate and cocktail making. The most famous is the Snowball cocktail (Snowball), which is a mixture of this liqueur, sparkling lemonade, as well as lime juice. In addition, the Bombardino cocktail (Bombardino), based on Advocate liqueur, whiskey and black coffee, is also popular.
