White rum

White rum...

It is reliably known that initially such an alcoholic drink as rum was distributed exclusively among robbers and pirates at sea, gradually gaining popularity on land. In modern times, rum is used not only in his homeland, but also in all countries of the world. Distinctive features are found only in the culture and traditions of drinking this strong alcoholic drink. In addition, even ardent fans of Roma are known, among whom there are famous people (writers, artists, etc. ).

White rum is not as widely popular as its dark variety. Moreover, not everyone knows about the existence of such a drink, and even more so with what and how to drink it. White rum (often also called "silver") goes through the filtration stage immediately after aging, for this reason there is no color of the drink.

In addition to the lack of color, white rum also does not have a pronounced taste. The advantages of this alcoholic drink include sufficient lightness (its strength is 40%), a gentle sweet taste, many connoisseurs say that this variety does not "cut the throat" so much. The soft taste of the drink depends more on its aging in ash barrels (about 18 months). The clear alcohol is then sent to ripen in steel containers.

On bottles with white rum you can find the inscriptions Silver, Light, Blanca, White. Some call white rum a product of poor quality, while arguing that good rum can only be dark. In fact, this is not the case. According to statistics, in Russia dark rum is consumed in its pure form, and white rum is more often used to prepare a variety of alcoholic cocktails. Moreover, there are a great many recipes for such cocktails, and their tastes are thin, light, clean, sweet (white rum is mixed with Coke, white wine, Pina Kolada, Daikiri, etc. ).

White rum is produced in India, Australia and other countries with tropical climates. But the homeland of this drink is considered to be the countries of the Caribbean Sea, in which the method of its consumption is absolutely opposite to the Russian one. In these countries, it is used mainly in its pure form in order to deeply feel its noble taste and character. By the way, white rum cocktails in his homeland are not in demand (and the manufacturer, as a rule, cannot be mistaken about its product). And, therefore, it can be assumed that savoring dark rum is rather a stereotype for people who are trying to demonstrate their position in society or status.

Among the most famous brands of white rum are Malibu, Havana club, Bacardi. But this is far from the only choice, because it happens that little-known manufacturers can offer high-quality white rum at an acceptable price. Therefore, when choosing a drink, it is better to be guided directly by taste, and not by the brand and advertising. White rum is usually slightly cheaper than its dark counterpart.

White rum is distinguished by a subtle refined character, as well as a unique aftertaste. Therefore, they use it depending on individual preferences: in its pure form (sometimes with ice) - to feel the real taste of the drink, as part of cocktails - to get new bright unique impressions. This alcoholic drink is perfectly combined with fatty varieties of poultry and meat, grill and barbecue. It is worth noting that the calorie content of white rum does not differ from ordinary rum (220 kCal).

White rum does not bear much benefit, because it is created and used only for the purpose of pleasure. But, of course, do not forget that excessive consumption of white rum can cause irreparable harm to the body.
