Baked soy sauce mackerel in the oven
4 servings1 hour
Mackerel - 2 pcs., Onions - 2 pcs., Soy sauce - 150 ml, Lemons - 0.5 pcs., Vegetable oil - 20 grams, Dry spices - to taste
How to bake mackerel in soy sauce in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. Take fresh mackerel, preferably not frozen. Such fish in ready form will be more juicy. If the fish is frozen, then pull it out of the freezer in advance and leave it at room temperature so that it thaws. For defrosting, do not use hot water - it will take all the juices from the fish.
For each fish, cut off the head and tail. Remove the insides and rinse the mackerel well in running water. Then dry it with a paper towel to remove excess moisture from it. Make shallow incisions on the surface of each fish. This will allow soy sauce to better penetrate the fish.
Drizzle the mackerel inside and outside with lemon juice. Sprinkle with the spices for the fish. Leave to lie down a little. Salt may not be added, as soy sauce itself is salty.
Peel the onions and rinse in running water. Cut the peeled onions into half rings or a little smaller.
Any heat-resistant form is suitable for baking. I'll bake the fish in ceramic form. Brush the bottom and sides of the form with vegetable oil. Place almost all the chopped onions on the bottom of the tin.
Top the onion with the prepared mackerel carcasses.
Pour soy sauce over the fish.
Top with the remaining onion and a few slices of lemon. Cover the tin with the fish foil and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and leave the fish in the oven for another 20 minutes.
Pour the sauce formed at the bottom of the tin over the fish. Remove the finished fish from the oven, transfer to a dish and serve hot to the table. Enjoy your meal!
