Brine-free mackerel fast at home
6 servings1 day
Mackerel - 2 pcs., Bay leaf - 2 pcs., Salt - 3 tbsp., Ground coriander - 1 tea l., Sugar - 1 tea l., Black pepper ground - 1 tea l.
How to quickly salt mackerel without brine at home? It's very simple. First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Mackerel can be used fresh or frozen. If you use frozen, it must be properly thawed on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator before salting. Bay leaf can add more if you want a more fragrant fish. I'll show you how to salt a whole fish and cut into pieces.
Gut the fish, remove the fins and gills. Rinse thoroughly and dry with paper towels. Leave one fish whole.
Cut the second into pieces about 3-4 cm thick. Whether to leave your head, decide for yourself. I salted all the fish whole.
In a bowl, combine the coriander, ground black pepper, sugar and salt.
Put a whole mackerel on a sheet of parchment. Grate inside and out with some of the spice mix. Put a bay leaf in your abdomen.
Place the chopped mackerel on another parchment sheet and sprinkle with the remaining spices. Break the bay leaf into pieces and sprinkle fish with them.
Wrap both fish in parchment and place on a plate. Refrigerate the fish for 20-24 hours.
Salted mackerel is ready in a dry way without brine. You can serve it to the table before removing excess salt. Enjoy your meal!
