Box layers with filling
9 servings1 hour 10 min
Finished layered yeast dough - 450 grams, Beets - 1 pc., Garlic - 1 tooth., Herring - 0.5 pcs., Mayonnaise - 1 table., Vegetable oil - 1 tea.
Prepare products. Bake or boil beets. Defrost the dough in advance/I usually take it out of the freezer and leave it in the refrigerator overnight/.
Lightly pour flour over the table and dough. Roll the dough in one direction/carefully/with a thickness of about 5-7 mm. Cut it with a roller or knife with rectangles of a size convenient for you. Cut the strips from the remaining dough - sides.
Place the rectangles on the baking sheet. Lubricate the connection points with water and attach the flanges. Cover with a napkin and leave for 10 minutes for proofing. Then grease the top with egg (I often grease with just vegetable oil).
Bake in a preheated oven to 200 degrees for about 18 minutes - until golden. Cover with a napkin and allow to cool.
Prepare the filling: finely grate the cooled beets, finely chop the garlic, herring fillet, add mayonnaise and mix.
We put the filling in boxes, decorate the top with a slice of herring and herbs. Enjoy your meal!
