Boil the beets. How to cook beets? You can just boil it in a saucepan in water. To do this, wash root crops well with a brush, fill them with cold water and put them on a medium heat. After boiling, reduce the heat and cook the beets for 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the fruits. Also, beets can be baked in the foil oven at t 180 ° C for 30-40 minutes. Or in the microwave at maximum power of 6-8 minutes.
Grind the walnuts in a mortar. Or chop it with a knife. I prefer to grind hard so that large pieces do not come across in the salad, but this is a matter of taste, you can leave large pieces. Previously, it is better to dry the peeled nuts slightly in a dry pan - they will become crisper and more fragrant.

How to make beetroot salad with garlic and walnut? Prepare the products. Try to choose sweet varieties for beetroot, it is usually dark in color. Root crops should be hard, without dents and signs of damage. Walnuts can take already peeled or peel them themselves.
Determine the readiness of beets with a sharp knife - it should easily pierce the fruit. Cool the finished beetroot completely, then peel.
Grate the beets on a medium grater. I prefer this way, but in general you can cut it into a small cube, straw or grate it on a coarse grater. It's as you like.
Fold the grated beetroot into a salad bowl. Peel the garlic clove and pass through the press. You can also grate it on the smallest grater or chop it with a knife. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Be careful - if you dress the salad with mayonnaise, consider that it also contains salt.
Add the nuts to the salad bowl. Put the mayonnaise in it. Instead of mayonnaise, you can use sour cream, a mixture of mayonnaise with sour cream or natural yogurt.
