Melted cheese pita roll
6 servings1 hour 30 min
Thin pita bread - 200 grams, Processed cheese - 300 grams, Eggs - 3 pcs., Bell peppers - 0.5 pcs., Cucumbers - 1 pc., Garlic - 2 teeth., Mayonnaise - 3 tables., Basil - 50 grams.
How to make pita roll with melted cheese? First, prepare the necessary ingredients. For this recipe, both ordinary Armenian pita bread and wheat roll are suitable, depending on what is available in the store. If your pita or roll is long (I have a length of 1m), then cut it in half into two parts. If the pita is small, take 2 pieces.
Wash the cucumber, dry and cut into thin circles. The skin from the cucumber, if it is not rough, not damaged and not bitter, it is not necessary to cut off. However, so that the cucumber does not tear pita, I still cut off the skin from it.
Boil the eggs hard-boiled, chill, peel and grate over a coarse grater.
Cut the basil leaves off the twigs and rinse. I didn't have fresh basil on hand, so I replaced it with young fine spinach.
Peel the bell peppers from the seeds and stalks, and cut the flesh into small cubes.
Run the garlic through the press or grate finely.
In a bowl, combine the melted cheese, mayonnaise and garlic and mix.
Grease the first pita bean leaf with half of the cheese mayonnaise mass.
Sprinkle pita over half the grated eggs and spread out the cucumber circles.
Top with a second sheet of pita bread and sprinkle with the remaining grated eggs and bell pepper. Spread basil or spinach leaves on top.
Roll the pita bread with a thick roll and wrap in cling film.
Put the roll in the fridge for 1 hour to soak.
Chilled roll cut into portions and serve. Enjoy your meal!
