Kurnik on kefir in the oven

Kurnik on kefir in the oven... 8 servings
1 hour 45 min

We begin the preparation of a chicken coop with dough kneading. To do this, in a deep bowl, combine an egg, kefir, softened margarine (if desired, it can be replaced with butter). Stir the liquid ingredients with a whisk until homogeneous. Sieve the flour in a separate dish, add salt, sugar and baking powder to it. Stir the dry mixture with a fork until homogeneous and add to the liquid part in small portions, constantly kneading. As a result, we get a soft, elastic dough that does not stick to the hands. We roll it into a ball, put it in a bag or film and send it to the refrigerator for half an hour. While the dough is resting, we prepare the filling for the chicken cooker. Peel the potatoes, mine and cut into a cube. Rinse the chicken fillet with running water, dry with napkins and also cut into a cube. Fold to a small saucepan, pour water and bring to a boil. After boiling, simmer over a minimum heat under a closed lid until half cooked. At this stage, add a little salt and ground pepper. We peel the onions, dry them and grind them. You can cut onions at will. In addition to a small cube and straws, you can grate it, then its taste will complement the finished dish, and the pieces will not come across during meals. Add onions to potatoes with meat, mix and turn off the stove. We turn on the oven 180 degrees and start forming a kurnik. The dough is divided in a ratio of 2/3. We take most of it, roll it out into a circle, taking into account the diameter of the shape (taking into account the formation of the sides). Grease the form with butter, sprinkle with flour and lay out the dough, making high sides. We lay out the filling, cut the butter into pieces and lay them out on top. We roll out a smaller piece of dough into a circle along the diameter of the mold, cover the filling and pinch the edges. In the center of the top layer of dough, we make a round hole through which steam will escape during baking. Also, if the dough remains, we form jewelry to taste - these can be leaflets, flowers, birds, etc. You can also decorate the pie with the help of small half-cuts (cut dough not to the end, not through it) in the form of elongated leaves. Lubricate the kurnik with yolk, this will make it possible to get a golden crust, and send it to the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Chicken and potatoes are practically ready, and thin layers of dough do not need much time to bake. Enjoy your meal!
