Let's make the ingredients on the list: red dry wine, orange, cinnamon, cloves, mint, ground ginger, nutmeg, anise, sugar and water. For mulled wine, red dry and semi-dry table wines are perfect. Some recipes use cognac or rum. The set of spices can be changed to taste and desire. My orange, cut it into thin wedges or halves along with the peel.
We put spices, orange and washed mint leaves in a saucepan or other metal utensils (dried mint can be used instead of fresh mint), pour water and put them on fire. As a rule, cinnamon, cloves, lemon crust, badyan, honey, ginger are added to mulled wine. Black pepper, allspice, bay leaf, cardamom can be used. Apples, raisins, nuts can also be added.
Bring to a boil, boil for a couple of minutes. Add sugar, mix so that the sugar dissolves. We turn off the fire. Instead of sugar, if there is no allergy, honey can be used, in this case, honey must be added to the dishes with spices after turning off the fire, it does not need to be greatly heated so that the vitamins and nutrients contained in it do not die. Cover the dishes with a lid and leave for 10 minutes so that the spices give their aroma completely.
Again we pour a decoction of spices into metal dishes, pour red wine and put on fire. The main task is to warm up the mixture, but not bring to a boil, otherwise the drink will lose its taste and share of alcohol. We turn off the fire.
