Potatoes - 500 gr, Fat cream - 100 ml, Hard cheese - 100 gr, Butter - 15 gr, Nutmeg - 2 gr, Ground black pepper - to taste, Salt - to taste
How to bake gratin potatoes in the oven? Collect the necessary ingredients for the dish. It is better to cut cold butter in advance into small pieces. I strongly advise you to use nutmeg for a dish, it gives the dish a unique aroma.
Grate the cheese over a coarse grater. Cheese can be used by anyone, the main thing is that it melts well.
Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into thin circles about 2mm thick.
Brush a small deep baking sheet or roasting tin with butter. I left small pieces at the bottom so that the potatoes did not stick to the bottom when baking.
Place part of the potato circles in the mold overlapping, like shingles, in one layer. Salt the potatoes on top, pepper and sprinkle with nutmeg. For convenience and homogeneity, I advise you to mix all the spices in one bowl.
Pour some of the cream over the potatoes. You will need 2-3 tbsp. l.
Top with grated cheese.
Top with the next layer of potatoes, also sprinkle with spices, pour cream over and sprinkle with cheese. Repeat the layers until all the potatoes, cream and cheese are over. Arrange the butter pieces on top.
Bake the potato gratin in the oven preheated to 180 ° C for about 50 minutes. If the top layer is browned, but the dish itself is not yet ready, cover the tin with foil. Serve the finished gratin hot, sliced into portions. Enjoy your meal!
