Apples stuffed with cabbage

Apples stuffed with cabbage... 8 servings
1 hour 25 min

My red cabbage, dry it with paper towels. Then we cut it in half and thinly chink it. We put the shredded cabbage in a frying pan, pour water. Put the pan on a medium heat and wait for the liquid to boil, then reduce the heat to a minimum. We cook cabbage, occasionally interfering, 2-3 minutes. At this time, my big apple, after which we add it to three on a coarse grater and add it to the pan with cabbage, mix it. We wait for the liquid to evaporate almost all, do not forget to interfere. In the process, add salt, ground black and cayenne pepper to the pan, and stir again. Put dried cranberries in a frying pan and pour apple cider over the cabbage. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the cabbage until soft. It will take about 20 minutes. In the meantime, we will prepare the apples for the cabbage. In total, we will need 8 medium-sized apples - about 7 centimeters in diameter. My apples, wipe dry with a clean towel. Then we cut off the tops of the apples (about a quarter of the height of the apple), which we do not throw away - these will be caps. Carefully cut out the cores of the apples with a knife, then help scrape them out with a spoon. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees and wait for the cabbage to finish. And when this happens, we evenly distribute the cabbage mixture over 8 apples, filling them to the top. In each apple, top with a teaspoon of sweet cranberry jelly and a teaspoon of butter. Then cover the apple with a lid. We repeat the same with all the apples, then put them in a baking dish, previously lubricated with a small amount of vegetable oil. We put the mold in the oven that managed to warm up well for 40 minutes. During baking, juice will be released from the apples. We pour apples on top of them so that during baking they bake more evenly and do not burn. The finished stuffed apples can be served both hot and cold. In any case, it turns out a non-trivial, bright and festive treat!
