How to bake mackerel with pieces in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Peel the onions and rinse in cold water. Mackerel can be used both fresh and frozen. Remove the frozen in advance from the freezer and let it defrost at room temperature.
Cut off the head from the fish and remove the insides. Rinse it in water and wet it a little with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut the peeled fish into pieces.
For the marinade, mix the mayonnaise with the ketchup. Add salt to taste. Coat each piece of fish with the resulting mixture. Leave the fish to marinate for 1 hour. Turn on the oven 180 degrees beforehand.
Cut the peeled onions into half rings. So that the onion does not pinch the eyes when cutting, wash it and the knife with cold water.
Put in pieces of fish in a baking dish.
Spread the chopped onions between the fish pieces. Grease the top of the fish and onions with the remains of the marinade. Place the fish tin in the oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 30 minutes until the beautiful golden crust appears.
Remove the finished dish from the oven and serve hot to the table. Such a fish can be supplemented with a side dish of mashed potatoes or boiled rice.
