How to make rice in tomato sauce? Prepare for starters the foods you'll need to make rice in tomato sauce: rice, tomato paste, vegetable oil for frying, salt and spices. Of course, you can only do with tomato paste, but the spices are very adorning for simple dishes. Changing spices and seasonings, each time, we will get a new taste. This time I decided to add garlic, ginger and chili peppers to the rice for savoury.
Take one glass of rice. Rice is suitable for any variety, round-lake or long-grain is not important, you can even take steamed. From this, only the cooking time and proportions of water will change. For 200 grams of long and steamed rice, you need to take 450 ml of water and cook for 18-20 minutes. For short rice, you need water - 400 ml, cook the same amount. Brown and wild rice is cooked for 45-50 minutes, water must be taken 500-575 ml. Rinse the rice well and dry.
Pour in the required amount of boiled water and cook the rice over medium heat until free liquid is absorbed from the rice surface. Then reduce the heat to a minimum, cover and let the rice cook for another 3-4 minutes. Then turn off the stove and leave the rice under the lid to walk for 10 minutes. Serve the rice in the tomato sauce hot, sprinkling with finely chopped spring onions.
