The national cuisine of Slovakia is characterized by satiety and unassuming, and its formation and formation were influenced by Austrian, Hungarian and Balkan culinary traditions. It was this fact that made many national dishes of Slovak cuisine more spicy and to some extent much more interesting.

As in any Slavic country, meat is widely used in Slovakia, pork and chicken are especially popular. Although many recipes for Slovak cuisine are not indigenous, but for example Czech, they have become so established in this country that they have acquired a national statute.

Slovaks simply adore fish and any food based on it. Fortunately, the country is rich in numerous rivers and lakes where you can get these inhabitants of water bodies. Trout is considered the most delicious and valuable fish, which acts as a fairly important component of traditional Slovak lunch.

Be sure to taste the local first courses, which have an incomparable aroma and are amazingly tasty. There are more than one thousand recipes for Slovak cuisine: there are soups of vegetables, meat, cheese, mushroom and even garlic.

Regarding garnishes, we can say that there are also a large number of them and mainly these are all kinds of Slovak dishes, prepared on the basis of potatoes and other vegetables or root crops. In addition, here you can find many different dumplings, dumplings and dumplings, which are often served with cheese, paprika and bacon. One of the most common dishes is Halushki (galushki with a blister).

Confectionery and various types of baking in Slovakia are very tasty. Perhaps thanks precisely to the direct influence of Austrian traditions. Slovak hostesses will definitely treat you to pancakes with peaches, as well as an excellent snack for any dish - doughnuts with garlic and butter, called Longoche.

Regarding alcoholic beverages, we can say that local wine, although cheap, is quite high quality and therefore is in high demand. Varieties such as Rachenska Frankovka, Green Velteliner, as well as Vlasz Riesling deserve special attention. Champagne wines are not inferior to them in quality.

However, the most beloved drink of Slovaks is beer. The most popular and delicious varieties include foam drinks called Sharish and Topwar. It is not surprising that the local beer is so tasty, because it began to be brewed around the time when the first cities in Slovakia appeared.

In addition, local vodka deserves attention along with tinctures, which are usually insisted on juniper. Such a drink is called Borovichka and is quite famous outside the country.
